The Metropolitan Opera Live: Turandot

Paolo Carignani conducts Puccini's impassioned love story, broadcast live from the stage of the Lincoln Center For The Performing Arts in New York, which is perhaps best known for the aria "Nessun Dorma" taken from the stirring final act. Emperor Altoum, ruler of ancient China, is desperate to marry off his daughter, Princess Turandot. However, she refuses to be ruled by any man, and instructs all suitors that she will only marry a man who can successfully answer a series of riddles.
