The Australian Ballet: Sleeping Beauty

Recorded live in 2015, David McAllister's colourful staging of The Sleeping Beauty marries Marius Petipa's choreography with Gabriela Tylesova's opulent stage and costume designs. Set to Tchaikovsky's enchanting score, the storyline centres on Princess Aurora, who lives in a supernatural world of good and evil. On her 16th birthday, the evil Carabosse curses the princess but thanks to the quick thinking of The Lilac Fairy, Aurora is spared death and falls into a deep sleep instead.
