NT Live: Saint Joan

Drama Josie Rourke directs Gemma Arterton in the title role of George Bernard's Shaw tragic historical drama, broadcast live from the stage of the Donmar Warehouse in London. The play is based on the records of the trial of Joan of Arc and portrays the heroine as a farm girl and visionary, who asserted right up to her death that voices from God spoke to her.
