Comedy Harry Burns and Sally Albright first meet in the late 1970s. At the time, Harry shares his philosophy about human relationships and affirms his belief that "men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way". Over the course of the next 10 years, their paths cross. With various failed relationships behind them, Harry and Sally decide to be friends but physical attraction gets in the way.
