Musical Barrie Kosky directs Bizet's beloved opera in three acts, recorded live on the stage of the Royal Opera House in London under the baton of conductor Jakub Hrusa. Don Jose is a soldier stationed with his regiment near Seville, close to the home of his mother and an orphan called Micaela, who he is supposed to marry. During a patrol, Jose meets cigarette factory girl Carmen, who teases him mercilessly and stirs long dormant passions.
