Drama In 1843, German philosopher Karl Marx ruffles feathers with articles in the Rhineland News but he struggles to provide for his wife Jenny and their daughter. Eventually, they relocate to Paris where Marx pledges his time to wealthy patron Arnold Ruge. In the French capital, Marx encounters factory owner's son Friedrich Engels Jr and the two men are inspired by each other's work. They share drinks on the streets during battles between agitators and French police loyal to the monarchy.
