Asbury Park: Riot, Redemption, Rock & Roll

Asbury Park: Riot, Redemption, Rock & Roll

Documentary In 1970, seven days of rioting in Asbury Park on the New Jersey coast set ablaze parts of the neighbourhood. The Westside jazz and blues scene was destroyed and venues including the Upstage after hours club closed their doors. This documentary pays tribute to the seaside resort with an affectionate history lesson, intercut with concert footage of Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt, Southside Johnny Lyon and the Upstage All-Stars at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park.
