Documentary In 1943, Academy Award-winning filmmaker William Wyler travelled to Europe to capture footage of bombing missions in Germany for his planned documentary The Memphis Belle: A Story Of A Flying Fortress. This documentary painstakingly restores Wyler's work, frame by frame, accompanied by voiceover commentary from nine surviving B-17 pilot veterans, who experienced that harrowing summer of 1943.
