Action Four astronauts come into contact with cosmic rays during an routine space expedition. Returning to Earth, the quartet discover they have acquired special powers: group leader Reed Richards becomes the incredibly stretchy Mr Fantastic, his ex-girlfriend Sue Storm becomes The Invisible Girl, young brother Johnny transforms into The Human Torch and pilot Ben Grimm metamorphoses into The Thing, an incredibly strong half man-half rock creature.
