Drama Texan dreamer Joe Buck moves to New York with grand visions of becoming a successful male hustler. He quickly learns the harsh rules of the city streets and is evicted from his hotel room. As he wanders the streets of Manhattan with just the clothes on his back, Joe befriends con man Ratso, who offers him a place to stay in a condemned building. They formalise an unconventional business agreement to cater to the whims of New York's wealthy and attention-starved women.
