Young medical student Victor Frankenstein is determined to blaze a trail in medical science by harnessing the power of electricity to reanimate dead flesh. He conducts his secret and dangerous experiments with the help of his good friend Igor. Each success emboldens Frankenstein and he slowly loses his grasp on reality while Igor is caught in the middle of a battle of wits with wily police inspector Roderick Turpin and a fledgling romance with a beautiful circus performer called Lorelei.
