Authors Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates are publicly ridiculed for asserting that ghosts are real. When the dearly departed manifest in large numbers in Manhattan under the control of a powerful demon called Rowan, Erin and Abby join forces with nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann and ballsy subway worker Patty Tolan to avert disaster. They set up the all-new Ghostbusters and hire a sexy male receptionist called Kevin to man the telephone.
