Musical Dimitri Platanias sings the famous role of deformed court jester Rigoletto in David McVicar's powerful staging of Giuseppe Verdi's drama of revenge and deceit, broadcast live from the stage of the Royal Opera House in London under the baton of conductor Alexander Joel. Rigoletto serves The Duke of Mantua, a renowned womaniser. Count Ceprano harbours deep resentment towards both men and enlists the services of courtiers to teach the Count and Rigoletto a long overdue lesson.
