Action Ten years human-piloted Jaeger robots vanquished gargantuan alien creatures known as Kaiju, former pilot Jake Pentecost has abandoned his station and been swallowed by the criminal underworld. Lacking direction or purpose, Jake is on the brink of self-destruction until a terrifying new threat to mankind is unleashed and Jake's estranged sister Mako Mori implores him to return to active duty to avenge the fallen. Jake agrees and he builds a close-knit surrogate family in the shadow of war.
