Romance Amin returns home to Sete from his medical studies in Paris to pursue a newfound dream of screenwriting. In the blazing heat of summer, Amin diligently writes while he watches countless films on VHS to expand his knowledge of the moving image. Amin's mother encourages her boy to step away from his script and have fun with his cousin Tony, who is a local womaniser. Tony has countless notches on his bedpost, including Amin's friend Ophelie, whose beau is currently serving in the army.
