Comedy Tomas is deeply scarred by a childhood trauma but he has learnt to cope by nurturing an obsession with the moon. The boy stares through his telescope at the object of his infatuation, dreaming of the day he can make the journey to the surface. Tomas enjoys a crush on older neighbour Iris. Emboldened by this blossoming romance, the boy neglects to take his medication and his ordered existence on terra firma gradually whirls out of control.
