Maborosi

Drama Ikuo and his wife Yumiko are raising a baby in Osaka when tragedy strikes. The husband is killed by a train and Yumiko is left to care for their infant. She is tormented by the thought that Ikuo intended to kill himself on the train tracks shortly after he gave her a bell as a present. As the grief subsides but lingering doubts about Ikuo's state of mind remain, Yumiko agrees to marry a kind widower called Tamio and moves to his house on the coast with her son Yuichi.
