Action The X-Men are routinely dispatched on missions that are simply too dangerous for humans. During one of these escapades in deep space, Jean Grey is exposed to the effects of a solar flare, which unleashes her alternate personality, Phoenix. She struggles to control this fiery alter ego, posing a serious threat to Raven, Beast, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler and Quicksilver. A parasitic shape-shifting alien encourages Jean to experiment with her newfound powers.
