Honeyland
Honeyland
Documentary An intimate documentary, which spends three years in an isolated region in the Balkans, observing Macedonian wild beekeeper Hatidze Muratova and her mother Nazife. Hatidze is the last in a long line of caretakers of the surrounding countryside, who farms honey in small batches and walks four hours to the nearest city to sell her produce. The film observes the conflict when an itinerant family led by patriarch Hussein moves into the village and dismisses Hatidze's rules to sell his own honey.
