Musical Philip Stolzl designs and directs a visually stunning staging of Giuseppe Verdi's drama of revenge and deceit, which was recorded live on the shore of Lake Constance in Bregenz under the baton of conductor Enrique Mazzola. Rigoletto is the deformed court jester in the employ of The Duke of Mantua, a renowned womaniser. They are a formidable double-act, working together to mock the men whose wives have become notches on the Duke's proverbial bedpost.
