Documentary In 1972, Aretha Franklin visited The New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles with her producer Jerry Wexler, backing singers and a full complement of musicians to record an album of gospel music in front of a live audience. Oscar-winning filmmaker Sydney Pollack and a camera crew were present for two electrifying nights, capturing Franklin at the height of her powers. More than 45 years later, after various technical hitches and legal wrangles, the concert film hits the big screen.
